Genomic Diversity Facility LIMS(Retired)User Guide

Initiating a Project

From the Projects menu, click the “New project” button.  A project page will appear.  Fill out the required fields (*).  If SNP calling services are requested and your species or a close relative has a reference genome sequence that could be used to identify single copy GBS tags for SNP calling, please supply a link to the desired reference genome version.  If you do not supply a link to the reference genome, your data will be analyzed using a pipeline that does not require a reference genome and this will result in fewer SNPs with lower sequence coverage.  If SNP calling services are not requested, leave this field empty.

After you have finished recording relevant project information, make sure you check the box at the bottom of the page and press the “submit” button.  After the project has been submitted, users (individuals who need access to project information or project data) may be added using the “Manage Users” button at the bottom of your project page.

After project information is submitted to the LIMS, an administrator will accept your project and make recommendations regarding appropriate enzyme(s) for reducing genome complexity and sequencing plex levels.  A formal quotation for the proposed work will also be issued at this time.
